No more Detox!

Just a quick note - I have decided to stop the detox, after my first week. I'm sure it doesn't come as much of shock to anyone who keeps up with this blog.

But seriously, the food I was eating on the detox wasn't bad at all. I love vegetables and brown rice, I've been enjoying discovering new food shops and and I wasn't even craving coffee or meat that badly. The main problem with this detox is that it made me totally knackered. I'd fully sleep for like 10 hours, and still not have enough energy to get through my day! I'm sure it was also partly jetlag and partly pure laziness, but after a week on the detox, I realised that it wasn't working for me.
So yeah, I'm definitely gonna try to continue eating healthily - heaps of fruits, veggies, brown rice and various grains, and drinking loads of water. But, I need a bit of meat, sugar, wheat and caffeine in my life to keep functioning normally. I guess I'll need to turn to my Bill Granger books for some healthy-but-non-detox-type recipes!

  1. I reckon that sounds perfectly logical. I have a strong feeling that needing to sleep a lot is your body trying to tell you something.

  2. Good to see, I did much the same thing at the start of thsi year. Seriously food is such a big part of my life that I was just so bored I was going crazy not being able to cook anything interesting or go out, etc!
