Hi there! Welcome to my July Unblogged Files! July is usually a super quiet month for me - cold weather means hibernation! But looking back over my photos, there were a lot of good eats in July! Let's take a look.

First up: juices. After my friend Clarice made me a delicious green juice in Paris, I really wanted to make my own juices. So we borrowed my parents' old General Electric Juice Factory, and have been juicing like nobody's business!

I'll share some juice recipes soon! But I like having a small green juice whenever I have a savoury breakfast.

When I started putting this post together, I thought I might skip my breakfasts, lunches and homecooked dinners, as they all seem to be pretty similar month on month. However, some of my breakfasts were too pretty not to share! Açaí bowls! Yogurts! Pretty colourful fruit!

And toast! On old timey plates. PS I am loving Woodfrog Bakery bread at the moment - their spelt loaf makes delicious toast.

One Sunday, I made waffles! With fresh fruit, maple syrup and cool wHip.

Ok, onto some other things! It was a total sausage-fest (literally and figuratively), when I caught up with my German class for dinner at Munich Brauhaus (45 S Wharf Promenade, South Wharf VIC 3006). I have to say, I'm definitely not a fan of their "look at our sexy ladies" style of marketing, but the food was good! Here's the Oktoberfest Teller I ordered: crisp pork belly, mini schnitzel, sausages, creamy mash, bier jus, apple sauce, sauerkraut and red cabbage. Yum!

It's my mum's birthday in July, and I cooked a special birthday dinner for her. There was cinnamon-hot rack of lamb with cherried and chickpea'd couscous (recipes from How to Eat), cucumber yogurt and za'atar roast butternut squash with green tahini sauce (recipe from Simply Nigella).

Dessert was another Nigella recipe - the fabulous orange and almond-blossom cake from How to Eat. It's such a good recipe - the cake is so fragrant and moist! Highly recommend.

And in July, I finally tried Lune Croissants for the first time! I was woken one Saturday morning by a text from my buddy Timmy K, saying he felt like a tool for standing in line for croissants, hehe. I replied back with a laughing emoji, and also cheekily asked if he could buy me some croissants while he was there. He kindly agreed and bought a box of six! He got some plain ones, a pain au chocolat, one almond croissant and a coconut pandan croissant. All were very good, but the coconut pandan was out of this world!

One night, we had friends over for a games night. We drank wine and ordered UberEats, and I made a cherry pie for dessert. This was another old favourite from How to Eat, and I think is my favourite pie recipe ever!

One week Sandra was travelling for work so couldn't join us for our weekly family dinner, so my parents and I decided to go for a seafood feast at Jimmy Leung's Kitchen (1007 Doncaster Road, Doncaster East 3109). Their crab is ridiculously delicious! They have a secret recipe, with heaps of different spices and peppers. Amaze.

I had some pretty serious back pain this month (overdid it at the gym!), so the next week my parents kindly said they'd bring dinner over to me. Dinner was this gorgeous sushi and sashimi platter from Suzuran. Woohoo.

I had my great friend Jess over for dinner one night, and decided to make Nigella's Roast Seafood (recipe from Kitchen). What a treat of a dinner! There's roast potatoes, garlic and lemon, with a little wine, topped with prawns, squid and clams. It's quite easy and makes for an impressive meal!

I went to see Finding Dory (verdict: super cute and surprisingly emotional), with my friend Chan, and we had a sneaky meal at Vaporetto (681 Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn VIC 3122) beforehand. This was my third visit, and I'm still super impressed with the food!

One Saturday was spent at Yabby Lake Winery (86-112 Tuerong Road, Tuerong VIC, 3915), with a group of lovely food bloggers, enjoying Chef Simon West's latest lunch menu with matching wines. This was part of a photo shoot for the winery's website and social media, photographed by the lovely Ewen and Shellie. Being paid to sit down, eat food and drink wine? Yesterday, I had an early morning physio appointment, and took advantage of being up early to visit Tivoli Road Bakery (3 Tivoli Rd, South Yarra, VIC 3141). Check out how pretty that apple tart is! Star of the show for me, however, was that chocolate, rye and sea salt cookie. It was like a little chocolate molten pudding in cookie form, with a really appealing wheaty taste from the rye. (I also highly recommend getting the potato, raclette and mustard Danish if it's on rotation!)

And finally, today, the last day of July, Sandra and I decided to go for an impromptu lunch at Belle's Hot Chicken (107 Swan St, Richmond Vic, 3121). It was my first visit to Belle's, and it was great! I had chicken and waffles, with hot chicken wings and blue cheese dressing on the side. (I'd happily buy those waffles for breakfast just by themselves! So fluffy!)

And that was July! Plans for August: a couple of events, a weekend away, my bro's back in town for a week, and general hangs with friends. Yay!
