Maybe google it and give it a go - sooo yum!Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00261274546097701065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787347.post-23068807010328294312012-03-25T20:41:05.464+11:002012-03-25T20:41:05.464+11:00Bahaha! Mmmm pickles and seeds and intense flavours! And pistachio cheesecake. My favourite nut and my favourite kills-my-lactard-stomach dessert... Love your travel posts Sarah!Hannahhttp://wayfaringchocolate.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787347.post-31384723661861102902012-03-25T10:28:48.395+11:002012-03-25T10:28:48.395+11:00Germaine & Jane - I did wonder if my relatives...Germaine & Jane - I did wonder if my relatives were taking me to Straits Quay because I'm a 'foreigner' and they wanted to take me somewhere a bit more upmarket? I thought there were a decent amount of customers when I went - but perhaps that's because I was comparing it in my mind to Melbourne's Docklands, which is windswept and always empty!! :)

Jane B - Thanks for the tip! I know 32 The Mansion, so I'm sure I'd be able to find Beach Blanket Babylon. 32 is owned by a friend of a family friend - but isn't everything in Penang like that? :)Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00261274546097701065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787347.post-34082543256521814152012-03-24T21:41:10.013+11:002012-03-24T21:41:10.013+11:00Straits Quay opened last year, so hasn't been ...Straits Quay opened last year, so hasn't been around for long. They do have a good selection of restaurants there but like Germaine said, it hasn't been as popular as they thought it would be. Good to know your uncle rates the Nyonya place...I've been eyeing that one off as a place to try. And if you like cheap cocktails, you've got to go to Beach Blanket Babylon (behind 32 The Mansion, near E&O) Happy hour cosmos for RM9, Mojitos for RM10, and water views to drink to. Nothing better!Jane Bhttp://janeblakeley.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8787347.post-11603378449115465012012-03-24T19:13:54.731+11:002012-03-24T19:13:54.731+11:00We gave Straits Quay a miss during this year's...We gave Straits Quay a miss during this year's trip - last year it was still under construction for the most part, I think only a few pubs/cafes were open. Most of the locals don't seem to think much of it though. Too 'atas' ;)Germainehttp://perfectdrivel.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
